:star: NOTE: So here it is! The star babies species info journal... Sorry it's so image-heavy, but it's easy to just show than it is to tell for me oTL. I'm still fiddling with this, so sorry!  (is the font too small ??)

My only real rule for adopting these guys is I really prefer if you keep their basic anatomy/biology the same (keep them Astrums in other words...otherwise what's the point?? x3 ) Outfit and gender changes etc etc are fine! And of course if you have any questions about them, feel free to drop a comment.

Anyway, let's get too it! :star:

Starlight, Starbright

The first star I see tonight

I wish I may, I wish I might....

Astrum Liberis

:snowflake:"Star Children"

..... Astrum Liberis are an alien race of personified stars. They are born with a certain star, and die when it dies. They are made of stardust and spend most of their long lives in outer space.

:star: Astrum Liberis are a closed species- Meaning you may not make one or copy them without my permission. I do take customs, though!:star:

Appearance

:snowflake: Body

..... Astrums' bodies are made of stardust. They are all genderless because they don't reproduce, but there is still slight "sexual dimorphism". They have no need for eating, sleeping (although they can rest if they are bored), or breathing... they are also extreme temperature/force proof (they live in the vacuum of outer-space after all!). They don't sweat or have much in the ways of bodily functions... in other words, they are extremely hardy and low-maintenance.

:snowflake: Hair

..... Probably the most defining feature of an Astrum is their hair. Their hair is a starry reflection of the view from their star (wherever it is in the universe), and it pulses in time with their star (basically their heart-beat). They don't really cut their hair because it represents their life force, so most Astrum have longer hair.

..... Hair color is based on whatever color their star is at this time. Color can change throughout their lives. Most common colors are blue, red, white, and yellow. Green, Orange and Purple are rarer. (However, there is no such thing as a green star, so you won't see one with totally green hair.) All Astrums start life with pure white hair that will begin pulsing when they are young adults.

:snowflake: Heart

..... The 'heart' is the only internal organ Astrums have. It's right in the center of their chests, and pumps blood filled with "star power" through their bodies. Heartbeats are completely individual, ranging from a beat so fast you can't see it (this makes their hair look likes its constantly glowing) to a beat so slow you'll only see it once every 5 years.

Their heart is one of the only things they cannot regenerate.

..... Some rarer Astrums will have an irregular heartbeat. They range from semi-irregular to completely sporadic. (Looks up irregular /semi-irregular variable star on wiki). Betelgeuse is an example of a semi-irregular Astrum.

:snowflake: Eyes

..... An Astrum's eyes can be virtually any color, but they always have star-shaped pupils. Most common eye colors are bright yellow, red, blue and green.

..... The 5-point star shape is a symbol of Astrum race because of their eye and horn patterns; This is actually where humans got the shape from.

:snowflake: Skin

..... Astrum skin color is random (not hereditary) and can range from dark to light. All Astrums have speckled skin, that looks similar to a cosmos. The lighter speckles actually glow in the dark.

:snowflake: Horns & Tails

..... Most Astrums have horns or antlers of some kind; they can look like just about anything. They are gradient and have yellow or white stars on them. It is possible for them to not have horns at all, but that's a rare thing - as are Astrums with more than one set of horns.

..... Tails are a recessive trait that few Astrums display. They are long and white, and Astrums can use them as stabilizers in space.

:snowflake: Blood

..... Astrums blood is starry and dark, and looks a lot like outer space... but it's also highly poisonous and can kill things on contact lol. Their nails and sclera of their eyes are black as a result of their blackish-purple blood.

:snowflake: Bio-luminescence

..... Astrums hardly ever land on planets (entering and leaving atmospheres is annoying and potentially hazardous), but when they do they have a daytime/nighttime form. Some parts of their bodies glow in the dark!

Abilities

:snowflake: Gravity Manipulation

..... Astrums can generate and manipulate their own gravitational fields (and also anti-gravity). The strength and how long it lasts depends on how big their star is/how powerful the Astrum is. Some cannot generate a stable field without the help of astral rings.

:snowflake: Starlight & Shape-shifting

..... Astrums can generate "starlight" energy fields. They use these beams of light for attacking and defending when they have to, but they mostly use them for inter-space travel. When they get up to their top speed they can travel at the speed of light, looking very similar to a shooting star!

..... Because of their ability to bend light Astrums can potentially create illusions - including bending the light around their bodies to change their appearance. (They tend to wear things on their heads when they are imitating humans because hiding that pulse of theirs is annoying and harder to keep up for regular Astrums!)

:snowflake: Psychic Powers

..... Since there's no sound in space, Astrums speak to each other through psychic connection. They can feel each others' life force from billions of light years away. Although the speak "the language of the stars" between themselves, They are highly intelligent and can learn virtually any language very quickly.

:snowflake: Regeneration

..... Astrums can regenerate almost every part of their body, as long as their heart (and/or star) are unharmed. It's pretty rare that they actually have to though, because they are very hardy.

:snowflake: Astral Rings & Starlight Orbs

..... Astral Rings are gravitation stabilizers. Most Astrums cannot produce a steady, constant gravitational field so they use gravity rings to help that.

..... Starlight Orbs are power storage centers. When an Astrum has more power then their bodies can contain, Astrums will use power orbs to store any excess energy.

Life

:snowflake: Life Span

..... There is no set lifespan;Astrums' lives last as long as their star's does. So a typical Astrum has billions to trillions of years to live. Because of this they tend not to sweat small stuff. Life is extremely valuable to them, and they understand the consequences of violence, so they tend to be very peaceful and friendly toward every  intergalactic race.

:snowflake: Birth

..... All Astrums are born in a Stellar Nursery. They refer to this as "Great Mother". She is a giant goddess-like being who lovingly raises her children until they are old enough to leave her celestial body, and she only speaks the language of the stars. Since they don't reproduce sexually, Astrums don't really have concepts of "parents", and since they are all raised in a nursery together they are sort of all "siblings" but not...

..... Since Stellar Nurseries are defenseless, some Astrums will stick around and protect their mother and younger siblings. This is Taurus constellation's job, for example. The all-female Virgo constellation is well-known for having many nurseries within their space.

:snowflake: Childhood

..... All children are born with white hair. (They are considered "Proto-stars"). They have distinctive wings that eventually merge back into their bodies as they become adults.

..... Adolescents hair gradually changes from white to color (sometimes).

..... There is no way of predicting what they'll look like when they are adults. As more stars are born, the older ones are pushed out into space, so they age completely under their mother and older sibling's care. Eventually they are pushed out into space and leave home as young adults, where they'll be pretty solitary for the rest of their lives.

:snowflake: "Death"

..... Eventually their star will use up all of its energy and turn into what is know as a "White Dwarf" star. This causes they Astrum to fall into a coma-like state, that they will never wake from. So this is considered "death", though Astrums would more or less consider it something like "retirement".

Stella Anima

:snowflake: Stellar Companions

..... Astrums aren't the only thing out there! Such a long life can get lonely.Stella Amica are Astrums' life-long companions that represent companion stars, asteroids and other space debris that orbit around stars. Some Astrums will have a weapon, an item or an stellar animal friend that is based on the theme of their constellation!

They can be anything from a sword, a harp, a giraffe or even a dragon!

..... Item class Anima are called Stella Arma I or II ("I" is Non-weapon type, "II" is weapon type), while Animal class ones are referred to as Stella Amica.

Black Holes

:snowflake: Lost Children

..... [LOCKED]. "A fate worse than death".

Okay, I know it's been...forever since anyone's commented or anything here, but I wanted to look back over this species...

And I gotta say that the "Black Hole" thing has me extremely curious. Especially since the image looks so interesting. Ooph.
